Soror Parker is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She was initiated in the Nu Upsilon Chapter in the Spring of 1989. As a Doctor of Social Work and a licensed clinical social worker, the majority of her service to Delta has been focused on physical and mental health, having served as a member of the Physical and Mental Health Committee in the San Diego Alumnae Chapter and Chair of the Physical and Mental Health Committee for the North San Diego County Alumnae Chapter. She is the immediate past president of the North San Diego County Alumnae Chapter, and is one of its charter members. Leaving that chapter was not an easy decision to make, but she could not ignore the needs of her own community! She is invested in children and bringing the people of her community together for the good of all! She looks forward to serving Murrieta, Temecula and the surrounding areas.
Soror Deirdre Burnett was initated on March 8, 2014 into the San Bernardino-Riverside Area Alumnae Chapter. She has served Delta as a committee member on EMBODI, Ways and Means, and as chair of the Political Awareness and Involvement Committee. She is a certified personal trainer and manager of a neo soul singer. She is also an entrepreneur/business owner. She is married with four adult-children. She enjoys audio books, sports, and surrounding herself with positive people. Family and close friends are important to her. Her goal is to help inform, educate, and build a better community for Murrieta-Temecula area.
Soror Tania McLean-Nicholas was initiated in Spring of 2014 through the San Bernardino Riverside Area Alumnae Chapter. She faithfully served on the Physical and Mental Health and Embodi Committees. As a licensed marriage family therapist, she is passionate about mental health and dispelling the mental health stigma in the African American community. She is the owner of Renewed Hope Counseling and has facilitated a dozen workshops on "The Art of Healing", "Social Emotional Learning", Understanding Depression", "Drug Awareness and Prevention", "Grief and Loss", and a host of others. She has experience working with foster youth and special education. She is also a psychology adjunct professor. She makes sure to follow her passion and commitment to living a healthy lifestyle, demonstrated by her plant-based diet and love for social dancing. Tania specifically has a love for latin music and salsa dancing.
Jaki Andrews was initiated into the San Bernardino Riverside Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated in the Spring of 2018. With a passion for uplifting and advancing the status of the African-American community, she has served in the roles of chair and co-chair of the Social Action committee, and is currently the corresponding secretary for the Murrieta-Temecula Area Alumnae Chapter. Jaki is an experienced criminal defense lawyer, representing citizens charged with felonies and misdemeanors in the Inland Empire for the past 17 years. She is a member of the RIchard T. Fields Bar Association and the Lake Elsinore Chapter of the NAACP.
Nailah Legohn was initiated April 2011 by way of Xi Lambda Chapter (California State University, Fullerton). She briefly served as treasurer for her collegiate chapter as well as a “step master”. Upon graduation, she transitioned to Cerritos Area Alumnae Chapter. There, she served as member of the Technology committee, co-chair of Arts and Letters, member of Nominating committee, and on the step or stroll teams. Nailah currently serves on the Advisory Council for Xi Lambda Chapter, and is honored to be a Charter Member for MTAAC. Professionally, Nailah is an elementary teacher in the Menifee Union School District and serves on the e-board for the school district’s African American Parent Advisory Council. Nailah is an active member in her church, an avid movie goer and foodie, a Zumba instructor, and a fan of spending quality time with her family and friends whether indoors or out.
Soror Vivian Routh has had the pleasure of being a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. since Spring 1980 when she was initiated into Epsilon Zeta Chapter at CSULA. While a member of EZ chapter, she served as treasurer and chapter president. As a member of North San Diego County Alumnae, she was co-chair of the Economic Development Committee. Although currently retired, Soror Routh had a career in banking and a career employment services and workforce development with the local county. She is known around the County for being very skilled at facilitation of workshops for both adults and youth and assisting individuals with understanding their value when it comes to marketing themselves for the workforce. Soror Routh also has a creative side which has been used to create t-shirts designs, flyers and bags for various Delta events for her former local chapter. As a charter member of Murrieta-Temecula Area Alumnae, she is one of two sorors who designed the chapter logo. As a resident resume guru and interview specialist, Soror Routh loves to see people realize how much they have done and how much they have to offer that they never realized.
Soror April Deaderick Potter comes to MTAAC from the charismatic and courageous Central Region. She is honored to serve as MTAAC’s financial secretary. Born and raised in Denver, CO, she graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a BS in Business Administration. Her passion for education led her to later complete her MBA with University of Phoenix. While at UNC, Soror Potter was initiated into Zeta Pi Chapter, Spring of 1978. Outside of her professional pursuits, she has a love of travel which stems from many years adventuring and living abroad with her husband, Aaron, during his service as a United States Marine. Together with their daughter, Njeri, they have lived in Japan and Germany, and visited 37 countries. When she isn’t trotting the globe, Soror Potter is also an avid runner. She has completed 39 half marathons, 13 of which were in 2013 alone. In 2020 and beyond. As a chartering member of MTAAC, Soror Potter looks forward to furthering the goals of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. in our local area.
